Double Chocolate Banana Bread
If you are a chocolate fan then this is the recipe for you. This has 2x the chocolate which makes it 2x more delicious than regular banana bread!! If you have a bunch of ripe bananas that you’re not sure what to do with it then Banana Bread here you come. This recipe takes your classic banana bread to a whole new level by combining 3 of our favourite baking ingredients, BANANAS, CHOCOLATE + PEANUT BUTTER!
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup milk of choice
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 medium, very ripe bananas (riper = sweeter)
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- Optional: banana slices, peanut butter, extra chocolate chips
Method:
- In a small bowl, mix the milk and vinegar together and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Then mix in all the remaining wet ingredients, including the milk/vinegar mixture.
- Mix in all the dry ingredients until just combined and then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Add batter to a prepared loaf pan (optional: top with banana slices, peanut butter drizzle and extra chocolate chips). Bake at 350F for 65-75 mins or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool on a cooling rack before cutting into it.
