Single Serving Apple Crumble

We’ve all been there … you’re craving something sweet in the evening but you’ve literally just sat down after preparing & cleaning up your dinner. The last thing you want to do is spend another hour in the kitchen making a dessert. Plus, you don’t even have enough mouths to feed an entire recipe worth of dessert. To make matters worse, you need to go grocery shopping so you have limited ingredients for your potential dessert recipe.

Well, look no further, because we have got you covered with this simple and delicious Apple Crumble! First, this recipe can be whipped up in UNDER 20 minutes so you can enjoy the rest of your evening with this cozy crumble in hand. Second, this is a SINGLE SERVING recipe, so no need to stress about leftovers or wasting food. Third, this recipe uses super BASIC ingredients that you likely already have in your pantry so you won’t have to get out of your PJs for a late-night grocery store run.

Ingredients:

Crumble

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp sugar of choice (white, brown, coconut, etc)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

Apple Base

  • 1 small apple, peeled & chopped
  • 1 tsp sugar of choice (white, brown, coconut, etc)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Toppings

  • Dollop of whipped cream, ice cream, or yogurt
  • Sprinkle of pumpkin seeds

Method:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the flour, oats, sugar and melted butter to form the crumble.
  2. To an oven-safe ramekin/dish, add the chopped apples, sugar and cinnamon and mix.
  3. Layer the crumble on top of the apples. Bake for 15 mins at 375 F.
  4. Top with whipped cream (or ice cream or yogurt) and pumpkin seeds.
